March Update
« Winter Photos | Mid-April Update »
March 16, 2010
March has brought northern Minnesota the warmest temperatures in 130 years according to reports from the staff at the Duluth News Tribune. Very little snow remains and the lake is turning dark with reports of smaller creeks and streams already open; the time for winter motorized travel may be over.
What the rest of the month and April will bring; only Mother Nature knows for sure. A gardening expression gleaned over the years: “Don’t argue with Mother Nature, she always wins’.
We are hoping for a gentle return to spring without spontaneous bouts showing winters grip.
The return to spring green and soil ready for turning is something we eagerly anticipate.
